Uncovering the Surprising Roots of the Charismatic Movement #shortsvideo #billygraham
#orthodox #christianity #evangelical #charismatic I would say with mixed feelings and with some suspicion, but let me start with the positives. First, I think historiographically, the rise of the Charismatic movement as the powerful 20th century Christian movement is very much a reaction to the fossilization and the rationalistic tendencies of Protestant scholasticism. So, following the Protestant reformers and their confessional ossification, Christianity became in these movements very much a matter of the head. This is very much still the case for Calvinism. The Charismatic and Pentecostal churches offer just that. They don't create a paradigm in which the experiences of the apostles and the experiences of the saints for 20 centuries is not livable today.
