Abraham’s plea for Sodom reveals a compassionate God who listens. Psalm 103 proclaims this mercy joyfully. Yet the Gospel reveals the cost of that mercy: true discipleship requires everything. Following Jesus is urgent and total—no delays, no distractions. We are comforted by God’s compassion and challenged by His invitation to leave behind our excuses and follow Him completely. Divine justice, radical discipleship, God's wrath, intercession, mercy vs. justice, Sodom, delayed obedience, comfort zones, costly grace, spiritual priorities, following Jesus, modern idolatry, lukewarm faith, evangelization, urgency in faith, righteous minority, sin and punishment, moral relativism, judgment of God, Gospel urgency, excuses in faith, abandonment to God, mission vs. comfort, self-denial, spiritual laziness, biblical mercy, uncompromising faith, free will, personal sacrifice, holiness. === Monday, June 30, 2025 - The Divine Guidance: The Cost of Mercy and Discipleship Reflection: Am I truly willing to follow Jesus even when it costs my comfort, my plans, or my timing? Prayer: Merciful Father, You are slow to anger and rich in compassion. Teach us to intercede for others with the boldness of Abraham and to trust in Your mercy that never fails. And when You call us, Lord, help us not to delay. Give us the courage to leave behind our excuses, our comforts, even our familiar routines, and follow You wherever You lead. May we never forget that to follow Christ is not a part of life—it is life itself. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. === Disclaimer: This video contains original reflections and commentary on the Catholic daily readings, produced by The Word Today TV.
