MGS2: Sons Of Liberty Walkthrough Part 1: Tanker Incident (INTRO & OLGA GURLUKOVICH BOSS FIGHT)

As promised, dear gamers, today we will move from the foggy streets of Silent Hill back into the world of another series whose early entry is already present on the channel. The series in question, of course, is Metal Gear Solid and its second entry which is also one of my personal favorite PS2 games, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty so sit back, relax and enjoy. About Game: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty is 2001 stealth action-adventure video game developed and published by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan for PlayStation 2 with an updated edition of the game known as Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance being released for Microsoft-based PCs and Microsoft Xbox in 2003. The game was also remastered and re-released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012 alongside Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It is a fourth mainline game in Metal Gear series and serves as a direct sequel to 1998's Metal Gear Solid. Even before its release, MGS2 was hotly anticipated game due to success of its predecessor. Despite originally being meant for release during late 2001, MGS2 became one of the numerous video games forced to alter their content in the wake of 9/11 terrorist attacks with this including major alterations to the game's finale which ultimately pushed its release back to the very tail end of 2001. However, once MGS2 was released, it was met with outstanding critical acclaim with critics of the time praising the game's graphics, upgraded gameplay elements, cinematic approach to the storytelling and unprecedented attention to detail in the game environment which influenced other games released later while criticism was aimed at seemingly nonsensical turn of the story towards the end of the game and inclusion of a new character Raiden who superseded fan favorite Solid Snake as the game's primary protagonist. However, contemporary reviewers see MGS2's story as one of the first post-modernist stories told in video game medium and due to this, game retains its popularity even today as some have come to consider it "an art in video game form" while Raiden's popularity within the fandom has eventually increased to the point where he got his own spin-off game in 2012. Story of the game is split into two parts taking place in 2007 and 2009 respectively and follows two protagonists, Solid Snake and Raiden in their respective assignments which ultimately intertwine, forcing them to confront the mysterious force responsible for the events that turned Snake into fugitive after the events on Shadow Moses Island and directed almost all of Raiden's life. In August 2007, two years after Shadow Moses Incident, technical specifications of Metal Gear REX were made public through inexplicable actions of ex-FOXHOUND member Revolver Ocelot. Due to this, Metal Gear has become ubiquitous presence in the world as anyone with access to right materials can create their own version of the weapon. In order to curb its proliferation, United States' Marine Corps has started a top-secret project meant to create the ultimate, amphibious "Metal Gear killer" whose completed prototype is currently being transported aboard USS Discovery, a military tanker moving down Hudson River just off the coast of New York City. Philanthropy, an anti-Metal Gear NGO started by Shadow Moses survivors Solid Snake and Hal "Otacon" Emmerich intends to obtain the proof of the weapon's existence and upload them to the world with Snake infiltrating USS Discovery in order to do so. However, before he can start his mission, tanker is boarded by mysterious Russian troops that massacre Marines onboard and hijack the tanker with Snake deducing that they came to steal Marines' Metal Gear and managing to photograph the troops' commander and send his photo to Otacon. Since neither Snake nor Otacon know the tanker's ultimate destination, Snake heads to the ship's command bridge to find out, sneaking his way past Russians aboard. Upon reaching the bridge, Snake finds more dead Marines and sees a mysterious person on the front exterior of the ship just outside of command bridge, also learning that the tanker is heading for Atlantic Ocean with both Snake and Otacon realizing that Marines intended to test their super weapon in the open sea. As he heads out to confront the mysterious person, Snake discovers that she is a young woman and second-in-command of Russian troops that hijacked the tanker. After trying to hold her up in order to disarm her, Snake is attacked with a knife carrying a concealed bullet, provoking a one-on-one shootout that Snake wins using his tranquilizer gun. Upon knocking the woman out, Snake takes her handgun for himself and prepares to head into the ship's cargo holds to look for Metal Gear, being contacted by Otacon who tells him that leader of the Russian troops is an ex-Soviet soldier-turned mercenary leader named Sergei Gurlukovich. As he leaves, Snake is photographed by a mysterious drone that quickly flies off...
