Today’s Reflection on the Readings Dear Friends, in today's Gospel reading, we learn that the Holy Family of Nazareth played each member's assigned part in God's plan to perfection. Each member of the Holy Family of Nazareth had a unique role to play in God's plan. It is a family of admirable qualities, including love, obedience, harmony, cooperation, and understanding. The Gospel of today also demonstrates the strength and support that a family can provide for one another when faced with adversity. Sirach reminds us in today's first reading that living a life of joy and receiving rewards from God is a given when we respect our parents, follow their instructions, lend a hand when they need it, and treat them with kindness. St. Paul also lists other virtues that should adorn the lives of every member of a family in the second reading, but he places love above all of them. These virtues include compassion, care, kindness, lowliness, meekness, patience, and forgiveness. As St. Paul continues, "And whatever you do in word and deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him," dear friends, Christ should be the centre of our family life. Yes, dear Mother Mary's Protection family The readings from Today's Catholic Mass challenge us to follow God's will, remain faithful to Him, pray, and seek God's guidance when making decisions, just like St. Joseph did. God is a devoted father who looks out for us constantly and in every situation. Prayer Lord, I thank you for the readings from Today's Catholic Mass. Lord, I'm grateful that I have 525 family members under Mother Mary's Protection. For the sake of your glory and the sanctification of souls, Lord, grant each of us the ability to act as one family, united in prayer, taking responsibility for each other's care.
