Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate Series by Laruga yoga #ashtangayoga
This video I have taken in Goa at purple valley yoga centre in Goa. @larugayoga was teaching us how to make a strong foundation for Ashtanga yoga intermediate series. The Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate Series, also known as "Nadi Shodhana," is the second sequence in the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system. It focuses on cleansing and strengthening the nervous system, building on the foundation set by the Primary Series. The Intermediate Series consists of a sequence of poses (asanas) designed to purify the nervous system by opening and clearing the energy channels (nadis). The series includes backbends, twists, hip openers, and inversions, which are more advanced and challenging than those in the Primary Series. Why Practice the Intermediate Series? Nervous System Purification: The primary goal of the Intermediate Series is to cleanse and purify the nadis, or energy channels, in the body. This is thought to help in the free flow of prana (life force), enhancing overall vitality and mental clarity. Flexibility and Strength: The Intermediate Series poses are designed to further increase flexibility and strength, particularly in the spine, shoulders, hips, and core muscles. These advanced asanas also promote better alignment and deeper muscle engagement. Prerequisites : Before starting the Intermediate Series, it's generally recommended that practitioners have a solid foundation in the Primary Series and receive guidance from a qualified Ashtanga teacher. This ensures that the practitioner has the necessary strength, flexibility, and understanding of the practice to safely engage with the more advanced poses.
