In this 11 episode series - Black Ops 6 is a 2024 first-person shooter video game co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. It is the twenty-first installment of the Call of Duty series and is the seventh main entry in the Black Ops sub-series, following Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020). Set during Operation Desert Storm, Black Ops 6's single-player story follows rogue CIA operatives Troy Marshall and Frank Woods as they assemble a team of agents to hunt down Pantheon, a paramilitary group with covert ties to the agency The single-player campaign features multiple ways to approach its missions and includes dialogue trees for its cast of non-player characters (NPCs). In-between missions, players are able to access a safe house, where they can plan out missions via an evidence board and interact with NPCs. Players can also use cash, which is found throughout missions, to purchase various "Operator Perks" that grant improvements to weapons and equipment. In most missions, players assume the role of rogue CIA operative William "Case" Calderon, but some missions see players taking control of other characters. Certain campaign missions reward players with cosmetic items for use in the multiplayer and Zombies modes upon their completion, including weapon blueprints, player skins, stickers, and weapon charms. In 1991, during Operation Desert Storm, CIA operatives Troy Marshall, William "Case" Calderon, and Jane Harrow attempt to extract Iraqi minister Saeed Alawi but are drawn into a conflict with rogue paramilitary group Pantheon. Alawi is killed by ex-CIA agent Russell Adler, who warns the team about a conspiracy before being captured. Ignoring their warnings, CIA leadership suspends the team. Decoding Adler's message, the team investigates Pantheon, recruiting ex-Stasi tech Felix Neumann and assassin Sevati "Sev" Dumas. They break Adler out of a CIA black site, but are framed as fugitives after Pantheon attacks. Adler reveals Pantheon is arming Saddam Hussein and developing a psychochemical weapon, the Cradle. The team traces the weapon to a CIA biolab, where Case discovers he was once a test subject for Cradle. After learning of Harrow's betrayal, the team uncovers Pantheon’s plans to use the Cradle for a false flag attack on the Capitol to seize CIA control. Following a showdown at Vorkuta and a failed assault on the Capitol, Harrow is killed in a struggle with Case under the influence of Cradle gas. With Pantheon’s leaders still at large, the team agrees to operate as an independent unit to dismantle the organization, while a Pantheon agent infiltrates the CIA.
