November 17 ~ Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time We are nearing the end of the Liturgical Year and our readings are calling us to think about the ‘end times’. The fact that we don’t know when death will come should not lead us to become complacent or content. We live in the shadow of eternity, but that is not a reason for fearful or god-forbid hysterical expectation. What it does mean is that we must live in such a way that it won’t matter when Christ comes because we will be ready to meet him. The task for us then, is to make sure that every day is fit for Christ to see, and to be ready at any moment to meet him face to face. When we do that, all of life will become a preparation to meet the King. Therefore, the time to be intentional about following Jesus is NOW, don’t wait.
