Today's liturgy was filmed prior to the results of last Tuesday's election, but The Rev. Joe Sroka's words for us this morning are still appropriate for our place and time. The Gospel calls us out of the places and times of our regular lives in a sense of timelessness that is rooted in the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As we face the future, may we remember that it is to God that all of our allegiance and devotion are due. The Church provides us the vehicle by which we are reminded of this every single day. However you voted this past week, may you remember that the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life reins today and forever. Prelude: 'Song for the Nations' (Lisa Johnson, pianist) Sequence Hymn: 'Rejoice Rejoice, Believers!' (Jessica Blackwell, soloist) Closing Song: 'Your Peace Will Make Us One' (Kristen Leigh Mitchell, musician) 1st Reading: I Thessalonians 4: 13-18 Psalter: Psalm 70 Gospel: Matthew 25: 1-13 Presider: The Rev. Joe Mitchell Preacher: The Rev. Joe Sroka
