How to Implement Cargo Rail Realistically in Cities Skylines 2 (2023)! | UBG 5

Adding rail in your city is one of the most important things you can do to reduce traffic, noise, and air pollution. While they are expensive up front, they are able to transport goods and materials much more efficiently then passenger vehicles and semi-trucks and are better value over the long term. However, trains can also create major barriers if implemented poorly and/or late into a city’s development – so it’s important to implement them early in your city’s life if you want to integrate it into the fabric of your city. In today’s episode, we’ll do just that. We’ll implement a cargo rail network and make connections to our neighboring communities. We’ll also lay the groundwork for our future passenger rail system. This is going to be a massive build where we’ll build a rail yard and a new cargo rail terminal . We’ll also need to change to our existing industrial district to fit everything in as well as rebuild the city’s first interchange. But the end, we’ll have a well-functioning, grade-separated cargo rail network that with act as the perfect catalyst for the future development of the city.
