I Ranked EVERY Mario Series (Worst to Best)

#mario #mariogalaxy #supermario For over 40 years, the Super Mario franchise has done just about everything imaginable platformers, RPGs, sports, parties, puzzles, crossovers, and even educational games. From Super Mario Bros. saving gaming in the 1980s to Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Mario Party, and beyond, Nintendo has built an entire universe of sub-series under one plumber’s name. To celebrate Mario’s 40th anniversary, I’m ranking every major Mario sub-series from my least favorite to my all-time favorite. These aren’t just spin-offs; they’re full-fledged franchises with their own identities. That means series like Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario & Luigi, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, and Mario Golf are all here. But I’m also diving into the weirder ones — the Mario Educational games, Game & Watch Mario, Dr. Mario, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and even Mario + Rabbids. I’m only counting sub-series that stand on their own, multiple entries, a consistent theme, and their own fanbase. No ports, no remasters, no compilation discs. So you won’t see Super Mario All-Stars or Mario 3D All-Stars here, but you will see established lines like Mario Strikers, Mario Baseball, and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. And because this is about Mario, not his supporting cast, series like Yoshi, WarioWare, Luigi’s Mansion, and Donkey Kong are excluded. This ranking isn’t about sales charts or review averages, it’s about personal enjoyment. Which Mario games I still love booting up, which ones defined my childhood, and which ones I think capture the spirit of Nintendo best. Some are timeless masterpieces that shaped the industry. Others are bizarre relics that make you ask, “Why does Mario have a PhD?” Throughout this video, we’ll explore: How series like Paper Mario evolved from classic RPGs into experimental adventures. Why Mario Kart remains Nintendo’s most iconic multiplayer franchise. How Super Mario Galaxy redefined 3D platformers with its gravity-bending worlds. Why Mario & Luigi and Mario Party still have some of the most personality in the series. And how under-appreciated gems like Mario Baseball, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and Mario Golf deserve more recognition. Whether you grew up on Super Mario Bros. 3, raced your friends on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or laughed your way through Mario Party, this video is a full celebration of the Mario multiverse. Each sub-series shows a different side of gaming’s most famous character from platforming perfection to puzzle-solving doctor to tactical hero and sports all-star. So, which Mario series reigns supreme? Which ones didn’t age so well? And which hidden favorites deserve a comeback? Watch to find out — and let me know your personal ranking in the comments.
