Crossing Briley Parkway by Train - Nashville & Eastern Railroad

This is the view looking north from the vestibule of an eastbound Tennessee Central Railway Museum passenger excursion as it works its way up in elevation and crosses Briley Parkway. The elevation becomes apparent just before crossing when the train is level with the tops of large trees. The bridge was constructed as part of the track work done before the start of the Music City Star passenger trains. The old bridge (removed) crossed Briley Parkway a few hundred yards from here. The museum operates excursions on the Nashville and Eastern Railroad. The NERR is the portion of the old Tennessee Central taken over by L&N after the 1968 TC bankruptcy. The NERR is now an R.J. Corman shortline. October 5, 2019
