New marriages fall to lowest number since 2003 지난해 혼인 역대 최저 가능성... 올해 출생아수에 영향

Adding on to worries over the aging society and low birthrates in Korea... the total number of marriages in 2014 is expected to reach a low not seen in more than a decade. From the January to November period, there were around 271-thousand new marriages reported,... some 30-thousand less than recorded in 2003... the year that saw the lowest rate since data recording began. Statistics Korea forecasts the number of newborns will reach below 420-thousand this year,... an unprecedented low since the 1960s.
