Meditation on the Word and the Gospel for today, Thursday, June 26, 2025 | Navigating in the Word
💭Jesus warns us that if these practical fruits don't appear, it won't help to claim that we've said nice things, or prayed, or prophesied in his name, or even cast out demons. By building a false future, we are digging our own graves. Sooner or later, we are headed for ruin. ↓ JOIN OUR VIRTUAL COMMUNITY ↓ ► If you would like to support our evangelizing work with your DONATION, you can access it through one of these links: ✅ https://www.paypal.me/padregabriel ✅ https://www.jesusjoseymaria.org/donac... ✅ https://cutt.ly/HkKccKr ⚓ BROADCAST ⏱️ Navigation Itinerary ⏱️ ★ EASILY SUPPORT our evangelizing work by clicking here: / @padregabrielquintero 🕯🕯🕯 If you would like your Family Candle, you can access it by clicking here: 🔥 https://cutt.ly/ZQOB8UJ ✆ If you wish to contact us, you can enter here: https://www.jesusjoseymaria.org/nuest... ✈ Telegram Group: https://t.me/padregabriel If you wish to receive Father Gabriel Quintero's daily links, request them here: https://cutt.ly/ukKc5AU 🗺️ Navigation Chart 🗺️ 🕯️📖 READINGS OF THE DAY 📖🕯️ Thursday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time, Odd Year: FIRST READING A reading from the Book of Genesis 16:1-12, 15-16: Sarai, Abram's wife, bore him no children; but she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar. Sarai said to Abram, “The Lord has not given me children. Go in to my slave girl and see if I can have children through her.” Abran agreed to Sarai’s proposal. So, after Abram had lived in Canaan for ten years, Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar, her Egyptian slave, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife. He went in to Hagar, and she conceived. When she became pregnant, she despised her mistress. Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for this injustice. I gave my slave girl into your arms, and now that she has become pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between us.” Abran said to Sarai, “Your slave girl is in your power; do to her as you please.” Saray mistreated her, and she ran away. The angel of the Lord found her by a spring in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur, and said to her, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?” She answered, “I have fled from my mistress Sarai.” The angel of the Lord said to her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her authority.” The angel of the Lord added, “I will make your descendants so numerous that they will be too many to count.” The angel of the Lord concluded, “You are now pregnant and will give birth to a son, and you shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard your affliction. He will be like a wild colt; his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will dwell apart from his brothers.” Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram named the son she bore him Ishmael. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael. The Word of the Lord. INTERLESCENCE Psalm 106(105): R. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can declare the deeds of God, speak fully of his praise? Blessed are those who uphold justice and always do what is right. Remember me for the love of your people. Visit me with your salvation, so that I may see the prosperity of your chosen ones, and rejoice with the joy of your people, and glory in your inheritance. HOLY GOSPEL A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew 7:21-29: At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?” Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” ** When Jesus finished this discourse, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.
