Reminiscere - The Second Sunday In Lent - 16 March 2025

Today's Theme: Persistent Faith Sermon on: St. Matthew 15: 21-28 (ESV) And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly. 0:00 Prelude "Now That Daylight Fills the Skies” arranged by Lani Smith 03:22 Welcome 04:26 Opening Prayer 04:55 Entrance Hymn #24 “Lord, Open thou My Heart to Hear” 06:47 Confession of Sins 07:43 Kyrie Eleison 08:22 Absolution 08:55 Hymn #258 "Lord Jesus Christ, My Savior Blest” 12:45 Salutation/Collect 13:30 Old Testament Lesson: Isaiah 45:20-25 14:50 Gradual 15:16 Epistle: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-7 16:12 Holy Gospel: St. Matthew 15:21-28 17:30 Apostles’ Creed 18:32 Chief Hymn #257 “When in the Hour of Utmost Need” vs 1-5 21:34 Children’s message 24:33 Sermon 38:40 Offertory “Jesus Paid It All” arranged by Jason Krug 42:25 Prayer of the Church 47:22 Hymn #257 “When in the Hour of Utmost Need” vs 6-7 48:44 Collect of Thanksgiving 49:53 Benediction 50:17 Closing Hymn 198 “O Christ, Our True and Only Light” 54:00 Closing Prayer 54:54 Announcements 59:59 Postlude “Postlude in D” by Lani Smith
