Torch Rally In San Francisco
This video is a reflection of my long day in down town SF during the long waiting for the olympic torch, which didn't arrive eventually. I have to say that the energy in the air was somehow strange, where happiness and pride of Chinese people was mixed with rage, resentment and anger of Tibetans. The American people who came, definitely came to support the Tibetans. I can count maybe one to three American that were pro china in this rally. What really amazed me in the beginning is that both sides were mixed and waved their flags next to each other with some kind of acceptance. The opposing voices became lauder in the later stage of the event, were I believe the police did right when changed the route of the torch. I do think that lots of negative energies were saved by that move of the police. I have no idea what happened with the torch at the end of this rally... I sure did have some interesting experiences and unusual encounters with strange and beautiful people, after all it is San Francisco. I would say that the Tibetan supporters where very creative with slogans and banners, while the Chinese were perfectly organized with megaphones and, of course, the quantity of people. Someone told me that a lot of the Chinese people are not from SF, but were brought with buses from around the country. Sport is sport and politics are politics. Human life is human life and respect for one's freedom is above all, at least in my humble opinion.
