#MercyOverSacrifice, #TrueWorship, #PassoverToCompassion, #LordOfTheSabbath, #GratitudeInAction Mercy Over Ritual, Love Over Law | Divine Guidance - Friday, July 18, 2025 Our Mass Readings for today: Friday, July 18, 2025 Friday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time Reading 1: Exodus 11:10—12:14 Resp Psalm: Psalm 116:12–13, 15 and 16bc, 17–18 Gospel: Matthew 12:1–8 Mercy Over Ritual, Love Over Law Summary: Today’s readings confront the tension between ritual and relationship. From the institution of Passover to Jesus' defense of mercy on the Sabbath, Scripture urges us to remember that God desires hearts shaped by love more than rituals performed by habit. True worship is gratitude expressed in compassion. Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath, calls us to place mercy at the center of our faith. === Friday, July 18, 2025 - The Divine Guidance: Mercy Over Ritual, Love Over Law Reflection: Is my religious practice leading me to greater love and mercy—or just routine? Prayer: O Lord, You are the God who saves, who delivers, and who walks with us. Help us remember that our worship is not meant to impress You but to draw us closer to Your heart. Teach us, like Jesus, to choose mercy over judgment and love over mere observance. May our rituals be filled with life, our thanksgiving be sincere, and our hearts be shaped by compassion. Renew in us the spirit of true worship. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. === Disclaimer: This video contains original reflections and commentary on the Catholic daily readings, produced by The Word Today TV.
