Casa Blanca Video Essay

This video essay discusses how the film "Casablanca," directed by Michael Curtiz, explores the relationship of the United States with countries, such as Germany and the ally countries, during World War 2. This is done by making Rick, the main protagonist, a symbol for America. "Casablanca" is able to do this by utilizing many different shots such as the close up and over-the-shoulder-shot to emphasize emotions and to display how the other characters feel about one another.
