My favorite cake mix will have to be Duncan Hines. I would use the yellow or butter cake mix and turn it into any flavors that I like. For this video, we are making lemon cake flavor with this box of cake mix using real fresh lemon juice and zest. Don't use any lemon juice from the bottle for the cake batter. Don't add any lemon flavoring as well. When the cake comes out the oven, you can add more lemon syrup on top. Here you can use bottled lemon juice. Don't add too much lemon syrup or the cake will get soggy. The secret for this delicious hack is to use real lemon with zest and lemon syrup to brush on cooked cake. Also, add sour cream to your cake mix. You can also use buttermilk or milk instead of water. It depends on how tender you want the cake to be. Enjoy, see you in the next video. Lemon cake hack 1 box Duncan Hines yellow or butter cake mix: 3 large eggs 1/4 cup water more if needed 1/2 cup oil 2 1/2 tablespoon real fresh lemon juice zest of one lemon or more 1/3 cup sour cream Lemon syrup 1/2 cup lemon juice 5 paks of lemon powder 4 tablespoon powder sugar Lemon buttercream frosting 2 stick unsalted soft butter 3 1/2 cup powder sugar or more {to your taste for sweetness} 2 tablespoon lemon juice 5 paks of lemon powder 1/2 cup of condensed milk vanilla extract lemon extract butternut extract Lemon filling 1 can of condensed milk 3/4 cup heavy cream Juice and zest of 2 fresh lemon {1/3 cup} 1 pak of lemon powder optional for more lemon flavor Whisk well condensed milk and heavy cream together. Then add lemon juice and zest in at end. This will thicken up in seconds. No need to cook. Use filling in cake.
