#TheWordTodayTV #TodayGospelReading #GospelReadingforToday #GospelandReflection #HolyMassReadings Today's Catholic Mass Readings & Gospel Reflection - Saturday, September 16, 2023 Reading 1: 1 Tm 1:15-17 Resp: Ps 113:1b-2, 3-4, 5 and 6-7 Gospel: Luke 6:43-49 Memorial of Saints Cornelius, Pope, and Cyprian, Bishop, Martyrs Lectionary: 442 Reading 1: 1 Tm 1:15-17 It is a faithful saying, and worthy of acceptance by everyone, that Christ Jesus came into this world to bring salvation to sinners, among whom I am first. But it was for this reason that I obtained mercy, so that in me as first, Christ Jesus would display all patience, for the instruction of those who would believe in him unto eternal life. So then, to the King of ages, to the immortal, invisible, solitary God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. Responsorial Psalm: Ps 113:1b-2, 3-4, 5 and 6-7 R. (2) Blessed be the name of the Lord for ever. Praise the Lord, you children: praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord, from henceforth now and forever. R. Blessed be the name of the Lord forever. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the name of the Lord is worthy of praise. The Lord is high above all nations; and his glory above the heavens. R. Blessed be the name of the Lord forever. Who is as the Lord our God, and looks down on the low things in heaven and in earth? Raising up the needy from the earth, and lifting up the poor out of the dunghill. R. Blessed be the name of the Lord forever. Alleluia: Jn 14:23 R. Alleluia, alleluia. Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel: Luke 6:43-49 For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor does an evil tree produce good fruit. For each and every tree is known by its fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather the grape from the bramble bush. A good person, from the good storehouse of their heart, offers what is good. And an evil person, from the evil storehouse, offers what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. But why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say? Anyone who comes to me, and listens to my words, and does them: I will reveal to you what they are like. They are like a person building a house, who has dug deep and has laid the foundation upon the rock. Then, when the floodwaters came, the river was rushing against that house, and it was not able to move it. For it was founded upon the rock. But whoever hears and does not do: they are like a person building their house upon the soil, without a foundation. The river rushed against it, and it soon fell down, and the ruin of that house was great. === Reflection: https://mycatholic.life/books/catholi... Copyright © 2020 My Catholic Life! Inc.
