This elephant suffers from chronic inflammatory bowel disease. Due to her old age and having few teeth, she experiences difficulties in digesting food. She had a difficult past, but now her life is about to change forever. Sopha was rescued on May 26, 2023, being relocated to Elephant Nature Park, where she will receive excellent care, freedom from work and abuse, and the opportunity to make friends. After arrival, she immediately had the attention of our medical staff. In the evening, our mahout took her to relax in the river and mud pit. She enjoyed that immensely as if she had never experienced such a happy moment before. From now on, it is happy moments that will define her life in her elephant sanctuary.
