The 61-year-old busks for five days week depending on the weather can usually be found in Winchester, Kingston or in Guildford, his ‘favourite’ place. Dean who is originally from Hull, plays the guitar and has been a professional singer-songwriter since the age of seventeen and says he’s been singing since he was ‘knee high’. In his early career Dean, who describes his music as ‘heart and soul’, relentlessly chased record contracts and even went to America to forge a career where he was just beaten to a deal from a large management company by Billy Idol. Originally from Hull Dean has had his fair share of success as a songwriter and has had a number of publishing deals over the years. Dean co-wrote an album with a band called Novastar from Belgium and one of their songs; ‘Close to you’ was the third most popular song in Belgium during 2014 with their album going to number one. Dean Dyson has recorded four albums,:- Heartcore, I Found You, One Way Up and most recently, The John Leckie Doghouse Acoustic Sessions, all available on iTunes. Known for his passionate live performances, his strongly melodic and lyrical songs have been covered internationally, and sometimes translated into foreign languages. Most notably, two of Poland's most iconic artistes, Krzysztof Krawczyk and Maryla Rodowicz have both had commercial success with Dean's songs. Currently, Dean is based in London, and performs with his long-time guitar partner Chris Newland, and from time to time, he fronts the Pacifico Blues Band. He can often be found opposite Marks & Spencer.
