Typically it takes over 40 minutes just to get onto the bridge and on bad days traffic on the bridge can be pretty heavy too. Thankfully lane splitting is perfectly legal in California. The roads open up more after the tunnel and you can see some cool shots of the new Bay Bridge with the old one next to it in the process of being torn down.
