I'm convinced Jenna Ortega took BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE for a PAYCHECK (REACTION) FIRST TIME WATCH FYI - It took MULTIPLE EDITS & REVISIONS to bring this reaction to you - The Copyright Police were out in force! I left 20 minutes of footage on the editing floor :( I hope you enjoy this truncated version!! My Takeaway: This film was quite the hodge-podge of fan service, nostalgia and trademark-Burton kookiness! As you'll see (or have seen), I'm not quite sure it all came together satisfactorily. The music choices in the soundtrack were odd to me - the 70s tracks were fun and bubbly, and the score struck the right tone, but it still felt disjointed in this narrative - even slightly out of place. I did like the Soul Train though...Jenna Ortega DEFINITELY wanted to buy something expensive - that's the only reason I figure she took this odd-a$$ part. At the same time, Tim Burton had to wait 36 years for her to be born to make this work. I think they handled the "death" of Charles well - good grief...a lot can happen in 25 years. Justin Theroux really does look like bizarro Stephen Colbert, does he? What a wanktard of a character. Still not sure he deserved that fate though...Loved seeing Winona, Monica Bellucci is a Goddess, and Catherine O'Hara is a genius. Who doesn't check for fangs on a pair of Asps?
