Black Nouveau | Program | #2400 -- Million Mom March
[Latest Airdate: June 7, 2017] [Original Airdate: August 19, 2015] Black Nouveau traveled to Washington, DC, over the Mother's Day Weekend and covered the Million Moms March. Organized by Milwaukeean Maria Hamilton, (whose son Dontre was killed by a Milwaukee Police Officer) the event brought together mothers and friends who also lost loved one at the hands of police officers to demand justice, answers, and responsibility. Mothers for Justice United, founded by Hamilton, created this opportunity for the mothers and supporters to tell their stories, share their grief, lobby for justice and change, and try to heal.
