Ariane Schröder (Hin und Weg) adapted the novel into a sensitive screenplay full of emotional depth. The film stars Luna Wedler (Das schönste Mädchen der Welt), European Shooting Star of the 2018 Berlinale, and Jannik Schümann (Die Mitte der Welt, "Charité") alongside Luise Befort (Club der roten Bänder – Wie alles beginnt), Victoria Mayer (Hin und Weg), Stephan Kampwirth ("Dark"), Denis Moschitto (Aus dem Nichts), and Frederick Lau (Victoria).
