Faith that Moves Mountains? | Priest, So What? ✝️ | Homily, Sunday 05/10/2025

A certain idea of faith, noisy and demonstrative, is everywhere. Spectacular and boisterous, it has invaded our churches and our screens. It promises to "move mountains," to obtain anything if one "shouts loud enough." A faith that often makes the most vulnerable feel guilty and resembles a self-help discourse more than the teachings of Christ. This video offers a reinterpretation of the Gospel of Luke (17:5-10) and Saint Paul, who urges caution. We will see why Jesus himself seemed wary of this "gadget faith" and why he preferred to compare it to a mustard seed, tiny and humble. Far from being a tool for spiritual performance, faith is presented as a humble and discreet reality, comparable to a mustard seed. We will explore six profound reasons to distrust a faith that seeks to impress, preferring instead a faith of a servant, silent and faithful, which trusts not in its own power, but in God's mercy. A reflection informed by the book "Faith Is What Doesn't Work," for all those who feel crushed by the weight of a faith that must always "work" and who seek a deeper, more biblical, and more human spirituality. https://linktr.ee/pretre.et.alors Sunday homily, 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C, Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, inspiring spiritual podcast, rediscovering the Christian faith, inspiring Christian podcast, understanding the Bible today, Gospel of John, Gospel of the day, homily of the day, Catholic Church, biblical meditation, Christian faith, Word and Gospel of the day, Gospel of the day, Catholic Gospel of the day, homily of the day, Word of the day, Word and Gospel of the day, Gospel of the day of the Catholic Church, homily of the day, Mass today, Léonard Katchekpele
