80-year-old Beaumont man dies following crash

BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police tell KFDM News an 80-year-old man died early Wednesday after a driver crashed into his car Tuesday afternoon at a west Beaumont intersection. Sgt. Rob Flores says Anthony Cicero, 80, died of his injuries at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. Investigators say Cicero was driving his Buick north on Arlington Drive, off Phelan, when a 55-year-old man driving a Ford pickup west on Phelan crashed into him. The impact of the accident forced both vehicles into the driveway of a home. Police say the driver of the pickup truck wasn't hurt. Police believe the pickup truck driver was traveling at a high rate of speed. Police say according to witnesses, Cicero had a green light and the pickup truck driver had a red light at the time of the accident. The accident is still under investigation.
