REFLECTION OF THE HOLY GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SAINT LUKE: 21, 20-28
A reading from the holy gospel according to Luke (21,20-28): At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “When you see Jerusalem besieged by armies, know that its destruction is near. So, those who are in Judea, flee to the mountains; those who are in the city, let them stay away; those who are in the country, do not enter the city; because they will be days of revenge in which everything that is written will be fulfilled. Woe to those who are pregnant or nursing in those days! Because there will be tremendous anguish on this land and punishment for this people. They will fall by the edge of the sword, they will be taken captive to all nations, Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles, until the Gentiles have their time. There will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars, and on earth the anguish of the people, maddened by the roar of the sea and the waves. Men will be left breathless by fear and anxiety at what is coming to the world, because the stars will stagger. Then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with great power and majesty. When this begins to happen, get up, raise your heads: your liberation is near. " Lord's word
