A Siberian Arctic air mass will surge into Alabama on Sunday, setting the stage for a winter storm on Tuesday. We call days “Impact Days” when the weather will cause a change to your normal routine. Prolonged Freeze: Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for up to 100 hours, with some readings potentially dipping below 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Life-Threatening Wind Chills: Wind chill values are forecast to plummet to dangerously low levels, potentially reaching below zero, Monday night through Tuesday. Winter Storm Threat: Snow and ice are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday, with another round of wintry weather possible later in the week. A deep freeze is expected to grip the region Sunday afternoon, with many areas remaining below freezing until at least Thursday. The wind chill (feels like) could be as low as -5 degrees to 5 degrees above zero by Monday morning.
