Revised Common Lectionary Readings for Sunday, April 6, 2025, the Fifth Sunday in Lent (Year C) • First Reading Isaiah 43:16-21 • Psalm 126 • Gospel Luke 10:38-42 and John 12:1-8 Title: Filled with Laughter & Shouts of Joy Teaser: Jesus visited his beloved friends, Mary, Martha & Lazarus. It was a time of great danger only 3 miles and one week from where Jesus would be crucified. But they ate dinner and they celebrated. When Mary stepped out of her expected role as a woman, Jesus said that it was OK for her to be there. Amid danger and worry, we can lean on our friends to lift us up and for the invitation to the table to extend to all.
