Abalone Porridge/鮑魚粥/전복죽
Ingredients: 3 fresh abalones 2 cups of rice or brown rice (rinse and add the water level to 6 cups) 2 teaspoons of salt 5 Tbsp of sesame oil Steps: Wash 2 cups of rice/brown rice, and leave in the rice cooker with the water level at 6 cups (Do not Cook the rice yet) Set aside Remove abalone from the shell, and then cut/remove the intestines and teeth Using a spoon to push and gently scrape and remove from the shell Gently cut the attached intestines, and cut or remove the teeth Rinse the Intestines and set aside (Cut into a few pieces, put it back in the washed shell, then add some sesame oil and hot sauce or green onions and serve) Scrub abalones with brush (Don’t need to remove all the black parts of the abalone) Rinse under the running water Chop/cut two abalones into small pieces, cut one abalone into thin slices In a pot, turn medium heat and add 2-3 Tbsp of sesame oil, add chopped abalones and stir it for a few minutes Add approximately 2 cups of rice water from the rice cooker (Do not add the rice), and then boil it in medium to low heat for 10 minutes Skim off the foam Pour everything into the rice cooker, then set to “porridge” mode and let it cook until it’s done When it’s done in the rice cooker, add salt, sesame oil and approximately 2-4 cups of hot water and stir it, add more salt and to your taste, and add less or more water if you like thicker or thinner Porridge Serve Porridge in a bowl and add a few abalone slices on top and some sesame seeds for garnishing Enjoy and don’t forget to share :)
