Ian Blackford blames 'selective reporting' on stories of SNP financial troubles
Reports of financial issues within the SNP have been dismissed as a “media frenzy” by the party’s former Westminster leader. The party’s ruling body met on Saturday, with reports suggesting MSP and party treasurer Colin Beattie issued stark warnings about the SNP’s cash flow, saying it was difficult to balance the books. Ian Blackford, who stood down as the party’s Westminster leader in December, said the reports were a result of “selective reporting”. “The SNP is still a large membership party, we have more than 70,000 members, we have donors giving to the party, parliamentarians making a contribution,” he told the BBC.
