Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard Supports Kickboxing and Anthony "Amp" Elmore
In 1986 K.I,C,K Super heavyweight Champion Anthony "Amp" Elmore defended his World Super Heavyweight Title in Memphis, Tennessee against Jeff Hollins of Austin, Texas. Elmore Asked Boxing Great Sugar Ray Leonard to come to Memphis to be his guest. Leonard came to Memphis to support Elmore. Leonard admitted that he had watched Elmore many times on ESPN. Leonard was a hero of Elmore and the fact that he came to Memphis for Elmore's behalf meant a lot to Elmore and Kickboxing. Elmore's goal as a promoter was to bring Kickboxing into main stream America. Even more important was the fact that this bout aired on Black Entertainment Television and Elmore developed not only skills a a promoter but Elmore learned how to produce video. Elmore later produced the movie "The Contemporary Gladiator" and Iron Thunder.
