๐ฟ Adenium Sucker Branch โ Remove It & Grow a New Plant! ๐ฟ Adenium grafted plants sometimes grow sucker branches from below the grafted area. These branches may look healthy, but they steal all the water and nutrients, causing the grafted branches to dry out and stop flowering! ๐จ Why Should You Remove the Sucker Branch? โ It takes nutrients away from the grafted branches โ It weakens the plant and reduces flowering โ It often grows normal flowers, while grafted branches have fancy flowers How to Remove a Sucker Branch Correctly? โ Step 1: Sterilize your cutting tool using antiseptic, sanitizer, or hydrogen peroxide. This prevents infections. โ Step 2: Prepare anti-fungal paste using antifungal powder and water. If you donโt have antifungal powder, turmeric paste is a great natural alternative! โ Step 3: Cut the sucker branch carefully and apply the antifungal paste on the cut area using a brush. How to Grow a New Plant from the Sucker Branch? ๐ก Instead of throwing away the removed branch, you can grow a new Adenium plant from it! ๐ Before planting, remove most of the leaves, flowers, and seed pods. This is important because: โข The cutting has no roots to absorb water. โข If you keep too many leaves or seed pods, the cutting will waste its stored energy on drying leaves or ripening seeds instead of growing new roots! ๐ In my video, I didn't notice that my sucker branch had seed pods ๐ , but ideally, you should remove them before planting. It helps the cutting focus on root development! ๐ Now, apply antifungal paste on the cut end of the branch and let it dry for 2-3 days. ๐ After that, plant it in sand, which helps in fast root development. Wet the sand with water mixed with a little antifungal powder before planting. ๐ Bonus Tip: Watch till the end to see how the grafted plant starts growing flower buds again after sucker branch removal! ๐ธ ๐ฑ "เคเคฎ เคเฅ เคเคฎ, เคเฅเค เคฒเคฟเคฏเฅเค เคเฅ เคฆเคพเคฎ!" โ We saved the plant AND grew a new one! ๐ ๐ Subscribe for more gardening tips & tricks! ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฟ ๐ฑ #adeniumsuckerbranch #adeniumpropagation #adeniumcare #gardeningtips #adeniumplant #plantcare #adeniumflower #desertrose #adeniumcutting
