What is Presuppositional Apologetics and How Ken Ham Uses it

What's up heathens! Today we are discussing Presuppositional Apologetics and how Ken Ham uses that to justify Creationism. Jackson Wheat recently had me on to discuss what Presuppositional Apologetics was and why it's a bad way to argue things. Presuppositional apologetics is the worst argumentation that is out there mainly because it’s just lazy. Nowadays Sye Ten Bruggencate and Ken Ham are the ones most notable for using this type of argument. If you want to watch how Presuppositional apologetics is used in a debate, I would suggest Matt Dillahunty vs Sye (whisper: I was in the q & a portion at the end). Sye Ten has said that Presuppositionalism isn’t meant to foster a dialog but rather to “closed mouths.” This type of argumentation does this by just presupposing that God exists in the first place and you can’t have basic components of our reality, such as logic and reason, without God. According to Sye and Ken, this wins the debate before it starts and thus closes mouths of the opposition. Really though, it hasn’t stopped anyone from telling them they are wrong. It basically boils down to a type of circular argument called begging the question. They presuppose that God exists as an undeniable fact. The Bible reveals this information to us. Since God's word is inerrant it must be true. Laying out their core argument in this fashion helps to see the circular nature of it. This begs the question because the conclusion is stated in the premise, completing the circle. You can use this with Leprechauns, Fairies, Unicorns, and other magical creatures like a god that doesn’t exist. Often times they use Presuppositionalism to try and put scientifically minded people on a level playing field. This is most notably done by Ken Ham when he says that Creationists and Evolutionists both use faith to come to their conclusions. The problem is that Evolution has actual evidence to support its claims. The Creationist crowd has to make special pleading arguments, like radioactive decay wasn’t always uniform, in order to make their ideas work. They also use Strawman tactics in order to discredit evolution, like how we know how old some fossils are by the layer of rock they are in. They use these fallacious lines of reasoning in order to say that we both use faith to come to our conclusions.
