Digging and Storing Dahlias for Winter ❄️ | Here She Grows

As the saying goes, the third time is the charm and it's certainly the case when it comes to overwintering my dahlias. I've tried several methods and none have worked until now. Dahlias are hardy in zones 8-10, so my zone 5b garden requires that they be dug every year and stored. The digging part was easy, it was the overwintering part that was most challenging. But I'm happy to finally share the method that's worked for me. It's certainly not the only way to do it, but maybe it'll be perfect for you too! In case you're interested in the dahlias mentioned in this video, I've included the links from Longfield Gardens. I buy most of my tubers from them and all grow into beautiful, floriferous plants. Dahlia pre-orders start in December so be sure to order early to ensure you get the varieties you want. 🌼American Dawn - https://www.longfield-gardens.com/pla... 🌼White Onesta - https://www.longfield-gardens.com/pla... 🌼Felida Solar Flare - https://www.longfield-gardens.com/pla... My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5b in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt. 🌻Blog | https://hereshegrows.com/ 🌻Instagram |   / heatherhere.  . 🌻Facebook |   / hereshegrows8   📨 Email | [email protected] 📪 Here She Grows P.O.
