Something In The Way - Nirvana (medium)

/ @2chords   Here you will find lots of 2 chord songs for guitar and ukulele. I have organised the guitar versions into three levels. Easy, medium and harder. There is even a version of each song for complete beginners where there is a count all the way through in case you lose the beat. The black arrows have been designed to move just before the chord changes. I have found this is the best way as it gives a quick warning to the player that the chord change is imminent. The three categories contain lots of the same songs but with slightly more challenging versions of the chords. If you learn these songs you will equip yourself with all the chords necessary to play more complex tunes. You’ll learn everything from really, really easy chords to major and minor barre chords with the root on both the ‘E’ and ‘A’ strings. So, enjoy, have fun, and remember that this is a free resource which took a lot of time, so please be kind. There are a lot of videos so if you find an error please let me know and I’ll rectify it. Oh, and I’ve done some popular easy riffs for you to have fun with. They use the common ‘Tab’ system at the bottom, and my own system at the top. Use whichever makes most sense to you.    / @wiptic      / @wiptic   How to learn the guitar and ukulele using only 2 chords. Now, don’t panic. You don’t have to ‘Like’ anything, or ‘Subscribe’ to anything, and you won’t be sent endless notifications. The only role of these videos is to help you get started. …and this isn’t a tutorial. It’s simply a large collection of 2 chord, ‘disposable’, songs which will get you playing really quickly. If you learn all, or at least most, of these songs you will be able to play all the chords needed to tackle more complex songs. It’s been designed so each of the 2 chords will have a shortcut between them so, if you have a finger already in place, try not to remove it from the fretboard. Good playing is about finding the shortest route from one shape to the other so try not to dismantle what you already have. When the chord change becomes too easy try more strums. When multiple strums become too easy, move on to either a harder version of the song, or a new song. When you eventually do try more complex songs you may come across a chord change you haven’t done, but don’t worry, because the shortcut between this new chord sequence will be the fact that you already know how to play the chords. Simple. And there’s no need for fancy strumming at first. Do one down strum on beat one and use the remaining beats to change the chord. As your chord changes get faster and smoother try more strums but remember, always remain on the beat. Play as many of the songs as you can, and don’t worry if you don’t really like them. These are disposable songs and are being used to learn. Just imagine spending weeks trying to learn your favourite song. By the time you could play it, you’d hate it. So, learn these and then pop them in the musical bin, never to be seen again. They are a means to an end. There is also a playlist with some riffs so when friends and family find out you are learning you can play them a fancy little ‘party piece’. This will impress them just enough to make them go away so you can get back down to the business of learning your chords. Remember, playing an instrument is hard, so cut yourself some slack if it's not going well. It's a journey, and the best holidays include the journey. Relax, have fun, and never forget that humans weren't designed to do this, which is why it's so cool.
