What does it mean when the Bible says to produce fruit?

God is Asking: Got Fruit? Hi, I'm Bob Baulch with the That's Jesus Channel. Thanks for tuning in. One of my favorite and and one of the most familiar phrases that Jesus ever said was this I am the vine and you are the branches. I love that. We're going to talk about it more in just a minute. In the meantime, please go ahead. If you find these types of videos entertaining or edifying or educational, would you do me a favor and hit that like button and the notification bell? And if you really would like to do me a favor, subscribe to the channel. I would really appreciate it. So have you really thought about what that means when Jesus said, I'm the vine and you are the branches? You really think about that before Jesus is not just part of the vine. He actually is the vine. Jesus is the vine. We are the branches. He's the actual vine, though. He's the one that brings nutrients to the branches without the vine the branches will die from malnutrition. The followers of Jesus are the branches. They only live because they're attached to Jesus. The only way that you can be a branch is to follow Jesus. The only way that you can produce good fruit is to be connected to the vine Jesus. Does that make sense? Your fruit is the evidence that you're connected to the vine. So if you're not producing fruit, what does that mean? You're not connected to the vine. Jesus uses the analogy of branches and vines and fruit and trees a lot here just a couple of the things that Jesus said that may or may not be familiar to you quote, I'm the vine and my father is the gardener. Ever hear that one before? Get out your concordance. Here's a couple more. He cut off every branch in me that bears no fruit while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. Wow. If you're not producing fruit, you're going to get cut off. And if you are producing fruit, you're going to get pruned so that you can produce even more fruit. Wow. How about this one quote no branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit. Unless you remain in me I love these quotes. These are really good, huh? Here's the next one quote If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit and apart from me, you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are to be picked up and thrown into the fire. And burned. That's a reference to hell, folks. A branch that does not remain. And Jesus is like a branch that is thrown away and withered and picked up and thrown into the fire. We need to remain in Jesus. Here's another quote. This one's really good. Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. So you need to look at your life and determine what kind of fruit am I bearing? Is this good or is this not good? Here's another one. This is this is a great quote. You ready? Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down. And thrown into the fire. Thus, by your fruit, you will recognize them Another reference to hell, if you're not bearing good fruit, not good. Here's another quote. Make a tree good and its fruit will be good or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad for a tree is recognized by its fruit. I think this this verse has a lot of potential in it because it says you can make a tree good Say you've been unfruitful for a long time. Guess what? You can make a tree. Good but beware. You can also make a tree bad. Here's the next quote. This is to my father's glory. That you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. Oh, wow. You want to show that you're a disciple of Jesus. You're going to bear much fruit That's kind of scary. Next one. You ready? Quote, You did not choose me, but I chose you. And appointed you so that you might go and do what? Bear fruit. Fruit that will last and so that whatever you ask in my name, the father will give you. Jesus wants you to bear good fruit. So that if you ask the father will give you the ability to bear good fruit. You know, even though the writers of the New Testament picked up on the important of these analogies and all of those quotes that I just had were from Jesus. #GotFruit #fruitofthespirit #Iamthevine #youarethebranches #cutoffeverybranch #IfyouremaininmeandIinyou #Everytreethatdoesnotbeargoodfruitiscutdown #bobbaulch #thatsjesuschannel #godisasking #biblestudy #jesus
