Inxs & Jimmy Barnes – “Good Times” (Atlantic) 1986
Written by George Young and Harry Vanda. Produced by Mark Opitz Originally released by the Easybeats in 1968, a group of which George Young and Harry Vanda were members. This revival by Inxs and fellow Australian, Jimmy Barnes, was featured in the film, “Lost Boys”, starring Corey Haim and and Jason Patric. As a single, it reached #2 in Australia, #18 in the UK and #47 in the US. “Good Times” was conceived as an attention-grabber for the upcoming “Australian Made” tour, launched in December 1986 and featuring only Australian artists. Those involved wanted an Australian composition. As such, the Inxs/Jimmy Barnes’ disc was issued after a well-received Easybeats reunion tour. Jimmy Barnes was formerly of the group, Cold Chisel and, as a solo artist, racked up over a dozen albums that reached the Australian Top-3 from 1984 through today.
