Bruce Springsteen Independence Day on HQ Vinyl with Lyrics in Description
Track 5 from his fifth album "The River" released in 1980 copyright Columbia Records. It was recorded at the Power Station in NYC and was produced by Springsteen, Jon Landau and Steven Van Zandt. Springsteen wanted to capture the E Street Band's live sound and had many new songs as well as those from earlier album sessions that were shelved until they could be developed further for this album. His lyrics continued to reflect the average person's pursuit of the American dream and the roadblocks that can occur along the way. It received excellent reviews and has been compared to his breakthrough "Born to Run" for its strong songwriting and impact as another masterpiece from a great artist. It reached No. 36 in Switzerland, No. 31 in Germany, No. 28 in Japan, No. 8 in Australia, No. 5 in Spain, No. 3 in France, No. 2 in New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden and the U.K. and No. 1 in Canada, Norway and the U.S. It's been certified Gold in six countries, 2X Gold in France, Platinum in the U.K., 2X Platinum in Canada, 3X Platinum in Australia and 5X Platinum in the U.S. Recorded from the original vinyl.
