The Wolf Among Us Episode 3: A Crooked Mile [Part 1/2]

Enraged with the discovery of Crane's perverted lust for Snow White and believing that she may be in danger, Bigby heads out to find her, being told by the Beast that Holly is preparing a traditional Troll funeral for Lily below Buckingham Bridge. Upon heading there, Bigby witnesses Snow giving her own eulogy for Lily whose corpse was disposed of by Crane before Bigby could get to it, causing Holly to verbally attack him upon noticing him. After a brief arguement, Bigby openly declares that Crane is most likely Lily's killer to the gathered mourners before taking Snow aside and telling her about his discovery in Open Arms Motel's room 207, unwilling to show her the explicit photo depicting Crane and glamoured Lily. Aware that they need to find Crane as fast as possible, Snow suggests that they return to the business office before returning to the funeral ceremony while Bigby stays aside. As he does, he is approached by Tweedles who hold him at gunpoint, trying to intimidate him into not pursuing Crane. Bigby refuses to listen to them, causing the two to provoke Holly and Grendel into attacking them, shooting both while Bigby tries to hold them off, ending up shot through the shoulder. After the funeral, Bigby and Snow return to the Woodlands' business office where Bigby is patched up by a Fable physician doctor Swineheart. However, they find out that Crane has smashed the magic mirror in order to prevent Bigby from following him with the office librarian, a flying monkey from Oz named Bufkin being tasked with putting the mirror back together while Bigby and Snow search Crane's table, discovering that he has neglected his duties as deputy mayor for awhile, resulting in numerous angry letters being left at his desk by Fabletown residents. Upon breaking the table drawer open, they find a book with a page torn out, only clue left showing that it was about some ring. As they ponder what the page was about, Bufkin notifies them that a single shard of the mirror is missing, having been taken by Crane and making its immediate repair impossible. Just as Bigby and Snow realize that they will lose Crane's trail, Bufkin reveals to have overheard Crane saying something about his witch as he was escaping Woodlands, having set up an appointment with her for 2 AM that same night, leaving them with mere hours to track his witch down and intercept him. That is when Bluebeard enters the office, intent on helping the two with their search for Crane, much to both Bigby's and Snow's chagrin as they are aware that he would be mostly useless due to his short temper and violent tendencies. Despite that, Bluebeard voices his intention to go into Crane's penthouse to search for his whereabouts there while Bigby is left with the choice of going to The Trip Trap to look through Lily's remaining belongings for any clues about the identity of Crane's witch or to Tweedles' office since their attack on Lily's funeral made it clear that they are involved with Crane and possibly the murders of both Lily and Faith. Bigby firstly goes to the Tweedles' office and meets Flycatcher, a Fable once noted for being a prince turned into a frog by a witch, who works in the office as a janitor. Despite him believing Tweedles to be merely private investigators who are trying to help the community, Bigby tells him about the violence they had perpetrated on Lily's funeral with Flycatcher, whose loyalty to the brothers was swayed by Bigby's revelation, deciding to help him by leading him into the hidden room within the office. There, Bigby discovers several packages addressed to various unknown Fables, one of them being someone called "Crooked Man". Bigby also discovers some money and a message implying that Crane had been in monetary debt to Crooked Man, having embezzled some of Fabletown's funds in order to pay him back, implying that Crooked Man is a loanshark who hired Tweedles as his muscle. Bigby also discovers that the name of Crane's witch is Auntie Greenleaf. Afterwards, he heads to The Trip Trap where he finds Woodsman and drunken Grendel. After briefly drinking with the two and separating them after Grendel attacks the Woodsman after deciding to confront him about the secret sexual arrangement he had with Lily prior to her death, Bigby goes to the bar's back room where Holly is sleeping. While searching through Lily's belongings there, he briefly talks to half-awake Holly and eventually discovers an adress book with Auntie Greenleaf's adress. Upon notifying Snow, two head there separately, agreeing to meet up in front of the witch's apartment...
