Homemade CornBread Recipe

Homemade CornBread Recipe

This video is the making of one of the best - and easiest - Cornbread recipes that I have ever seen. I am not a big Cornbread fan - largely because most of them are dry - which is not the case with this recipe. Here is the recipe: Ingredients: 1 Cup All Purpose Flour 1 Cup Yellow Corn Meal 2/3 Cup Granulated Sugar 1 Teaspoon Salt 1 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder 1/3 Cup Melted Butter (or neutral oil) 1 Large Egg 1 Cup Milk (warmed to room temperature) Instructions: 1. Grease (or Butter) a 9 inch round cake pan or square baking dish, or iron skillet and set aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees 2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the Flour, Cornmeal, Sugar, Salt, and Baking Powder - and mix or whisk to combine well. 3. Make a "well" in the center of the dry ingredients and add the Butter (or oil), Milk, and Egg. Stir (or mix) just until the mixture comes together. 4. Pour the batter into the round cake pan and bake for 25 minutes until the top is Golden Brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. 5. It is best served hot.
