Dominic Raab, UK Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, met with Michel Barnier, the EU's Chief Brexit Negotiator today for the first time. The new Secretary of State takes up his new role with just 13 weeks to go before the October European Council where a withdrawal agreement needs to be agreed to allow the EU's 27 member states to ratify the agreement. Raab said that the purpose of today's meeting would be to make progress on the remaining gaps in the withdrawal agreement and to discuss the future partnership.
