HARDIN COUNTY- Jessica Crawford Thousands of dollars have been raised through a Go Fund Me account for a family whose 1-year-old son was killed when officers say his father accidentally backed over him. Now El Jalapeno, a Sour Lake restaurant, is trying to raise money to help the family of 1-year-old Jasper Parrish pay for funeral expenses. "It's unimaginable," says Manager Kala Estrada. "It's just unimaginable. The reality hasn't even hit us already, I can't even imagine what the family's going through." Hardin County Sheriff Ed Cain says Saturday, Jasper's father Calvin Parrish had already removed the child from the area once."(Calvin) ran back in his house to get his debit card, came back out and the child at the time had came back around behind the car where he had been playing," says Sheriff Cain. "The father backed up and backed over the child and realized what he had done after he could see him in front of the car and jumped out, called 911." A Go Fund Me account was set up by a family friend to help the family with funeral expenses. You can click here to donate. Estrada says she's trying to do her part to help Jasper's mother, and the rest of the Parrish family, heal. The Sour Lake restaurant will donate $2 of every meal it sells April 28 to the Parrish family. "Money's just a small factor but just anything that we can do to help, that way they don't have to be thinking about things like that and they can just concentrate on healing," she says. The address of the El Jalapeno restaurant is 104 S Merchant Street, Sour Lake, TX 77659. The phone number for the restaurant is 409-287-3301.
