Sudan peace talks start without warring sides

It's been described by the United Nations as a 'crisis of neglect'. The war in Sudan has led to the world's largest displacement crisis, with refugee agencies receiving only a fifth of required funding. More than 26 million people are food insecure and just this month, a rare declaration of famine was made in the country's North Darfur region. Talks are now underway in Switzerland to try and bring an end to the 16-month conflict, but they've failed to bring the warring sides to the negotiating table. #worldnews #sudan #famine SBS News is Australia's trusted news source for the latest news from Australia and across the world.
