Terrorism: A Review of the Current Threat Landscape | Panel 6: Counterterrorism

In the sixth panel, Dr. Richard English and Dr. Daniel Byman focus on the dichotomous relationship between terrorism and counterterrorism: one cannot be analyzed or understood without the other. Dr. English argues that terrorism is the consequence, not the problem. Dr. Byman highlights the successes of counterterrorism operations in the last few decades, and lauds the international intelligence cooperation behind the work. Panelists: Richard English, Queen’s University Belfast Dan Byman, Georgetown University Moderator: Tim Wilson, University of St Andrews -- The Center for Security Studies and the Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) at the University of St Andrews are proud to present “Terrorism: A Review of the Current Threat Landscape,” which took place at Georgetown University on January 23-24, 2020.
