31st Sunday-All Souls' Day: BEYOND THE TOMBS..., by Rev Fr Benny Gregoriose Koottanal MSFS
on this All Souls' Day we are reminded that death is not the end, but a doorway, not a wall of finality, but a passage into eternity. All Souls’ Day reminds us that heaven, earth, and purgatory are not separated realities, they are parts of one great communion. When we pray for the dead, we are not talking to the past; we are communicating in love. Our prayers hasten their purification; their prayers strengthen our journey. It is a circle of love, unbroken, unending, unshakable. May our hearts today echo the prayer of the Church: “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.” Year C: Wisdom 3:1-9c; Romans 6:3-9; Mathew 25: 31-46
