The Black Caps have been ruthless so far in the series, making light work of the Men in Green in the first couple of games. With the series on the line for Pakistan, they will square off against New Zealand at Eden Park on Friday (March 21). New Zealand rested one of their top performers from the series opener, Kyle Jamieson, for the second T20I. The fixture was reduced to a 15-over per-side contest due to rain in Dunedin. Pakistan were put into bat by New Zealand yet again. The visitors put in a much-improved performance compared to their last outing, posting a total of 135/9 in 15 overs. Captain Agha Salman top-scored with a knock of 46, while Shadab Khan (26 off 14) and Shaheen Afridi (22 off 14) played crucial cameos towards the backend of the innings. Jacob Duffy, Ben Sears, Jimmy Neesham, and Ish Sodhi all picked up two wickets each. In reply, Shaheen Afridi started with a maiden over, but that was about it from the visitors in the second innings. Tim Seifert and Finn Allen then tore into the new-ball bowlers. Mohammad Ali gave away 18 runs in his first over, while Afridi went for 26 in his second. Seifert perished five runs short of his half-century. Allen soon followed him back to the pavilion after making 38. New Zealand lost a couple of quick wickets in the middle, but Mitchell Hay's 21 off 16 and Daryl Mitchell's run-a-ball 14 took them to the brink. Skipper Michael Bracewell finished the game with a boundary. For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson and William O'Rourke were named for just the first three games. While Jamieson played in the first T20I, O'Rourke hasn’t featured in the series at all. The Kiwis might bring in both players for the third T20I. On the other hand, Pakistan looked like a completely different unit with the inclusion of Haris Rauf. They made New Zealand work hard to win the last match. The issue is with their batting and the visitors might want to include Omair Bin Yousuf into the mix in place of Hasan Nawaz or Irfan Khan Niazi, who have struggled in the first two games. Can Pakistan stay alive in the series, or will the Black Caps secure a series win with two games to spare? To find out, tune in at 10:45 AM IST & 6:15 PM Local Time for live coverage.
