Driver killed in head-on crash with Westminster Police officer responding to emergency call

A driver was killed in a head-on crash with a Westminster Police officer who was responding to an emergency call. The crash happened at Federal Boulevard and West 88th Avenue at about 1:15 a.m. The intersection is expected to be closed for hours, police told Denver7 at 3 a.m. Police said the officer was driving southbound on Federal when a silver car that was heading north turned in front of the officer at 88th. The cars collided head on.
