China’s 6G Threat: I Warned the Senate About the Next Tech War

China is already competing to dominate the next generation of wireless technology. In this Helsinki Commission hearing, I warn that if the United States and our allies repeat the mistakes made during the 5G rollout, China could control critical global communications infrastructure through 6G. I discuss why stronger coordination between the U.S., Europe, Japan, and other democratic allies is essential to stop Chinese dominance in emerging technologies. We must build trusted supply chains, align technology standards, and support developing countries so they don’t fall into China’s subsidized tech trap.
